About Us

Hi, I’m Keith Sutherland, 56 years of age, married with two daughters and a labrador and probably just like you, I am a golf nut. Like you also, I have been on golf tours all over Europe and other far flung places and with one or two exceptions, found myself clutching a voucher for a hotel, car hire and a golf course being met by a faceless rep, whose parting words to me whilst walking out of the airport terminal were “I’ll be on my phone if you need me”. It was not my idea of attentive customer service, given the cost of the average golf tour, from in most cases, large and well know golf tour operators.

So in 2006 with my previous indifferent experiences on golf tours still fresh in my mind, I started Biarritz Golfing Experience. Living in the area and regularly playing (and still do) all of the eight golf courses around Biarritz and quite a few further afield, I thought that it would be a great idea to bring these courses and the lovely town of Biarritz to the attention of fellow golfers throughout the world for them to enjoy. Of course, I also saw it as an opportunity of combining my passion with the challenge of running a business at the same time. Despite unfair accusations from within BGE I do make the tea, but always forget the biscuits … old habits die hard !!

OK I hear you ask, but what did you do before ? Well I’m not from within the golfing industry at all, in fact probably at the other end of the scale. I was a Detective with the Metropolitan Police in London for more years than I care to remember and golf is and always has ben, my passion. However, I have been and still am, a golfing customer and I like to think I know what makes a great golf tour allied to great personal service. In fact, so do some of you who have been kind enough to write to us after your visit here and compliment us on our service. High praise indeed for which we are very grateful.

The company ethos is about offering clients a very high level of personal service to the point where we take care of everything … so you don’t have to. No vouchers or “call me if you need me” empty rhetoric. We organise everything and I mean everything, plus we escort you throughout with our own staff, not agency reps.
