Tonic Hôtel
The Grand Tonic is a modern style hotel built in 1991 and situated literally no more than a good swing with a pitching wedge in distance from the main plage. A short stroll from the main entrance will take you a plethora of restaurants, bars, shops and the famous Biarritz casino.
The Tonic hotel are justifiably proud of their restaurant “La maison Blanche” whose Chef, Remy Le Breton, serves tantalising dishes using his great imagination and excellent local produce. There general design of the Tonic is art deco with three themed floors “Oceanes” “Classics” and “ Tutti Frutti” which reflect the colours used … a very interesting concept indeed.
Relieving some of the aching bones after a stiff examination on one the Biarritz golf courses has even been considered by this hotel, as each room is equipped with hydro – massage baths, to help ease away the pain. We do not feel that the Hotel deserves a four star rating at the moment but rather a 3 ½. However the staff are most attentive and the Tonic is very popular with our golfing clients and tourists alike.
Our opinion
” Perfectly placed in the heart of Biarritz with a good restaurant and bar. The Hotel is undergoing a programme of renovation in 2010 to further enhance it’s good facilities ”
