Golf de Seignosse
Only the very brave will “grip it and rip it” here as the tree lined fairways demand straight hitting for the whole eighteen holes. Seignosse is also just North of Biarritz, about 40 minutes in our chauffeur driven transport and well worth the journey. This place is fun with a capital F. With its numerous water hazards, sculpted earth rolling fairways and wide sand traps, Seignosse resembles a Florida golf course on steroids !!
Demanding, beautiful and completely unforgettable (just like my wife) this course certainly won’t take any prisoners. Elevated tees, a hilly terrain and time to boil an egg between some of the tees, mean these features will probably effect it’s buggy rating. The course does however border on the great and that’s why it is ranked amongst the best 100 top courses in continental Europe.
Seignosse is both spectacular and intimidating and certainly somewhere you would consider playing twice during your visit here. How often have us golfers played a course which afterwards we would give our lowest medal score ever to play again ? Well this is it. Created by renowned architect Robert Van Hagge in 1989 the course has matured very nicely since then. The 11th hole, a par five, is a real stunner from the elevated tee and if ever there was a hole where you need to have one of those “I’m going to launch one” moments, this hole will not disappoint. Seignosse .. you haven’t come all this way not too play this beauty, surely?

“ A must play course which will keep you thinking from the moment you tee off. The club house is “tired” and a course of this stature definitely deserves much better facilities. Nevertheless, it won’t detract from the fun your’e going to have … don’t come to Biarritz unless you intend to play this one ”
