Some astute client comments on ... golf !!
By Keith Sutherland 16 February 2009
Having run them past Tiger first, given that he does not have a great deal to do these days, we thought it would help to brighten your day in these difficult times with some very thought provoking comments from those of our clients who may not have performed very well after their round in Biarritz last year. In the main it had something to do with the copious amounts of great wine consumed the night before .. all part of the experience eh ?
“If I had cleared the trees and drove the green, it would have been a great shot”
“I play in the low 80’s, if it’s any hotter than that I won’t play”
“The only thing against it is that it takes you too far from the clubhouse”
“Golf is a lot of walking broken up by disappointment and bad arithmetic”
“Golf and sex are the only two things you can enjoy without being good at them”
“It’s more satisfying to be a bad golfer, the worse you play, the better you remember the occasional good shot”
“The best wood in most amateurs bag is the pencil”
“When I die, bury me on the golf course so my husband will visit me”
“The first time I played Golf de Seignosse, I was so nervous I drank a bottle of rum before I teed off. I shot the happiest 97 of my life”
“The difference between golf and government is that in golf you can’t improve your lie”
I hope some of those struck a chord with you out there …. keep smiling.
