How far in advance should I book?
Golf, along with first class surfing, great beaches, fantastic ambiance and glorious weather, has resulted in Biarritz becoming very popular, especially from mid-July to the end of August, when French schools break for their summer holidays. The further in advance you book, the greater availability of Hotels, golf courses and very importantly .. tee times, there are. Naturally, all hotels and tee times are subject to availability. Reservations will be accepted on a “ first come, first served “ basis, which in turn, will be dictated by the date of receipt of the clients initial deposit.

Should I bother with Insurance?
We do of course hope that there is absolutely no need for it, but if you do, you will be pleased that you did make, what we feel, is a necessary purchase. As we do not provide insurance cover, we would suggest you contact your local insurance expert to provide you with the relevant policy. In the unlikely event that you need it, such cover might include, trip cancellation, emergency assistance and medical evacuation along with the theft or loss of your baggage and golf clubs.

Will chauffeured transport cost more?
We don’t think it does and doing so will we feel significantly enhance your visit here. The cost is approximately the same as two minibus rentals as you have to factor in the fuel of course. However, there are a few other reasons why we think a chauffeur drive option is a great idea:
Firstly , you will have no concerns about losing your way ( we will of course be at you destination to meet you anyway), or driving on the wrong side of the road or missing your preferred tee time and very importantly, you can all sit with one another at the 19th Hole and enjoy a few drinks with no concern for the drink / driving laws, which are punitive in France.

What happens if I have to cancel my golfing break?
Well firstly, we would be very disappointed that you had to cancel your Biarritz golf break, but unfortunately you will incur costs as a consequence. We think it is not unreasonable to charge for the cancellation of a confirmed booking and so the following fees will apply, depending on when the cancellation occurs.

  • Four weeks or less – 100% of your holiday invoice
  • Four to Six weeks – 50% of your holiday invoice
  • Six weeks or more – 20% of your holiday invoice

Do we need Handicap Certificates and soft spikes?
Handicap certificates are not required, though all the Biarritz golf clubs shown in our selection suggest that guests should really be able to play to the maximum handicap allowance in France, which is 54 for both Men and Ladies. After all, you want to enjoy the courses as they have been designed. Also, in common with most golf courses throughout the world, soft spikes are required to be worn.
